Cadence Group is proud to announce that four professionals from its Records and Information Management (RIM) practice will be speaking this year at ARMA’s 60th Annual Conference & Expo, held at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort near Washington D.C. from October 5th-7th. They will be sharing their expertise in managing compliance, reducing costs, and mitigating risks associated with electronic documents and email.  The event, which will be attended by thousands of information professionals from around the country and abroad, aims to provide “the resources, tools and training needed to effectively manage records and information within an established information governance framework.”

CEO and President, Tina Teree Baker, VP of Operations & Senior RIM Consultant, Dr. Tishangi Bennett, VP of RIM Consulting, Dan Beard, and Senior RIM Consultant, Earl Johnson will be  representing Cadence Group at the conference as they lead sessions on navigating today’s Information Governance and electronic records management landscape.

Dr. Bennett will be the first of the Cadence Group team to facilitate a session on Tuesday, October 6th at 9:30am.  Dr. Bennett’s  50-minute session, entitled “Overcoming RIM Challenges in Governmental Agencies,” will offer solutions in the form of best practices, a cost effective risk management plan, and a discussion of  risks and laws that present challenges unique to governmental RIM operations. Participants will complete a risk management checklist and discuss their own challenges and solutions with other attendees in a small group breakout.

Later in the day at 1:00pm, Senior RIM Consultant Earl Johnson, CRM, will be leading a 10-minute “rapid fire” session entitled, “A Case Study on Managing E-mail Using Big Buckets” in which participants will learn how to determine, design, and develop an approach to managing e-mail in their corporate culture.

Dan Beard, CRM, will be leading another rapid fire session shortly thereafter at 1:24pm entitled “Federal vs. Commercial Schedules: Is the Grass Always Greener?” This session will be co-hosted by Mary Beth Weaver, CRM, from AECOM/URS Federal Services and engage participants in a point/counterpoint discussion on completing retention schedules from the federal and commercial perspectives. Participants will learn to choose the scheduling approach that’s best for their organization, whether it’s commercial or governmental.

Finally, on Wednesday, October 8 at 1:10pm, Cadence Group’s President and founder, Tina Teree Baker, ERMM, will be facilitating a 50-minute session entitled “Selecting a Defensible Deletion Tool.” This session will explain how daily workflows combined with defensible deletion tools can support an information strategy that enables you to quickly access the information that matters and clean up the clutter in a defensible manner.
